The cost of medical bills paid is not really an indicator of the pain and suffering nor the value of the case. The issue is what your injuries were and what treatment was necessary and what the permanent nature of those injuries will be in the future and how it affects your life. There is no set formula. This answer presumes the injury was not work related and we are not talking about a w/c comp, but a third party case.
No way to tell without a lot more information.
You need to contact an attorney to handle that part for you. Without an attorney, insurance companies look at you the way a hungry wolf looks at a sheep.
The amount of past medical bills is one factor among many. The extent of the injury, amount of lost income, the amount of future medical treatment and future wage loss, how long your recovery takes, the percentage of permanent impairment and how your injuries and physical limitations affect your ability to perform work, recreation, and other activities now and in the future all contribute to determining the full value of your case.
