Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

In August I sustained injuries from a fall which occured on the property of a local business. This is a place which I have frequented for many years and all of the employees as well as the regular patrons were aware of my fall and subsaquent injury and have called to check on me several times since the injury. I have acquired several Drs bills which I am unable to pay and wish to seek payment on these bills. In addition I was out of work for four weeks due to the injury. I have sent a letter to the owners of the property along with copies of the bills requesting payment on the outstanding bills. I included my contact information so that I may be contacted directly. The letter was sent via certified mail and proof of receipt has been returned to me. I have contacted an attorney however this matter is not large enough for them to take the case.

After not having received a response within 10 days of the first letter, I have sent a second letter requesting immediate action and notification of action or intention.

At this point I am not sure where to go from here.

Any advice you can provide will be appreciated.

Respectfully,

Mr. A. Edwards

The fact that you fell on someone's property does not mean that they are liable for your medical bills. Absent some negligence, the property owner has no liability.

Probably the best thing that you can do is get another opinion from another lawyer. You have to be able to prove that you had significant injuries and that there was something that the landowner did or did not do that contributed to your fall. If several lawyers decline your case then you will know that there just doesnt appear to be enough of a chance of success to make it worthwhile to devote the time and expense and take the risk of not receiving any fees.

You should definitely speak to another lawyer for a second or third opinion. It really depends on the facts of the accident and whether the establishment was responsible for causing you this injury. Regards,
