Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Did not have Bodily Injury

Hello,

I rear-ended a pest control truck 4 years ago and in the past year I have been sued. Just yesterday I had to attend a summary judgement, whatever that is, and the lawyer for the plantiff said that I needed to contact him for payment or he would get my license suspended. My problem is I am a 26 year old single mother (daughter is 10 months old) and do not have the funds to pay them. I believe the total is $15,000. I think I am in over my head and I just don't know what to do any more. Any information would be great. I am trying to find a lawyer now, but it seems they are all for the plantiff and not defendant.

If you had auto insurance at the time of the collision, your insurance company was obligated to defend you in the case. At this point, you may want to consider filing for bankruptcy. That would probably wipe out the judgment.
