Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida
business is suing for loss of customers
a person was selling "widgets" on an online auction.in small print he stated that they would be shipped in sept (which was 2 months away.)he also was selling them for almost twice the retail price.i emailed several people who bid and asked them if they realized he was not shipping til sept and i asked if they realized these could be bought in the stores for half what he was charging. in some letters i stated that it was a rip off to pay twice the retail price.the seller discovered i was emailing people and he sent me an email saying he was going to sue me because my emails made him lose business in excess 1000s of dollars because many people didnt want to buy from him after i brought it to their attention that these were not being shipped til sept.they had missed the small print.i didnt tell them not to buy from him...or call him any names.i think charging almost twice the retail price is a rip off.isnt it my right to say the truth or my opinion?

Gee, what was your dog in this hunt? Just out to ruin the guy's business, or are you a competitor? You may have a "right" to say what you did, but he has a right to sue you for tortious interference wiht his business relations -- at which point you'd have to prove you had a privilege to interfere. Good luck.
