Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida
I was in a car accident with my fiance in Florida, he was driving when the accident happened. I was hurt and he was not. The lawyer went after the insurance policy of the other car that struck us but now wants to go after his policy too since he said it was shared liability. What affect will this have on my fiances credit or background check? He drives as part of his job but was not ticketed for the accident, can this get him fired?

Your lawyer is doing the right thing from a strategic standpoint. There is no reason that his credit or employment should be involved if he was not at fault in the accident. The other driver's insurance company may try to shift the blame to him but his insurance company will refute that argument at their expense, not yours..and may add money to your settlement. Listen to your attorney and don't look for gobelins in the night.
