Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

car insurance coverage after personal injury accident

I was serious injured in a car accident and I had three

cars insured at the time of the accident. I was a victim

in somebody elses car but my uninsured motorists insurance

at the time was 50 thousand each person, 100 thousand each

accident for each of my three cars. If I understand correctly

I can make a claim under the UM insurance against all three

cars, but my question?

What is the max. amount covered? 50 thousand or 100 thousand

pro car? The Insurance company wants to settle for 150 thousand, claiming that is the max.

Sincerely

Since only 1 person was injured the $50,000 coverage applies.

Re: car insurance coverage after personal injury accident

If your UM carrier is making you an offer for $150K, it is because your UM insurance is 50/100 "stacked". This means that the insurance company adds the $50K for each vehicle in your household for a total possible recovery of $150K. The $100K portion of the 50/100 means that if there is more than one person making a claim against your policy, the maximum the insurance company will pay is $100K per accident, and no more than $50K per person.
