Make sure you have insurance policy which covers social host liability or has liquor liability clause which covers these events. Best practices include not serving intoxicated or impaired individuals or permitting impaired persons to operate motor vehicles when leaving the parties.

As Mr. Harris and Mr. Slater state, get insurance coverage. Perhaps you should also consider hosting non-alcohol parties and using your liability as the basis for being alcohol fre.
