Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida
my daughter was awarded a large sum of money from a lawsuit. She is a minor so all the legalities and official plantiff was me c/o her.
they want to issue a check for the full amount to her when she turns 18 whicxh is in 3 months.
I do not want her to have access to that much money, and want to invest it and dole it out to her as i see fit.
How do i get the money issued to me instead of her.?

Once she turns 18, the money is most likely hers. You can petition the Guardian Judge to make some restrictions as to where the money should go, but you should do it before she turns 18.
I wouldn't count on the court granting your request. The reason the money is being handed over when she turns 18 is that 18-year-olds are legally adults. Adults can make their own decisions about money.
For the court to give one adult control over another adult's money -- even if the first adult is a parent of the second -- would normally require a showing that the second adult has some sort of mental impairment that prevents her from exercising her own independent judgment. Arguing that your judgment is much better than hers will not be enough, even if her judgment is demonstrably bad.
