Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida
Next door neighbors daughter is invited over to play by daughter, after entering house she is knocked over by dogs and one of the dogs punctures her face. Neighbor takes child to emergency room and child is treated but no stitches... In what capacity am I responsible financially. Dogs were inside home and did not bite child or attack with intent to harm.

Under Florida Law, the owner of a dog is strictly liable for damages caused by the dog, regardless of whether the dog actually bit someone, the specific statute refers to "damage by dogs." As such, it would be in your best interests to inform your home owner's insurance company of the incident.
