Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida
Someone was driving a vehicle titled in my name (Florida title) without my knowledge, and the car was no longer insured. They totaled the vehicle and caused property damage to a Taco Bell Restaurant for a sum of about $6000.00. Now the insurance company is trying to make me pay for the damages. What legal recourse, if any, do I have if Taco Bell's isurance company tries to sue me for damages?

You will need to bring the culprit who stole your vehicle and did the damage into the litigation, in order to make them liable for all of the damage. You will also need to prove that they drove your vehicle without your knowledge or consent. If you have ever given consent for them to drive your vehicle in the past, and you left your keys where they could easily get them, this will make your job much more difficult. Your legal recourse is to hire an attorney.
Did you report the theft to the police?
