Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Hit and Run Accident

I was involved in a rather odd hit and run accident. Last night a driver, most likely dui, rammed into my car which was parked on the street in front of my house. He then fled on foot, leaving the scene of the accident. I want to know what my rights are, and if I have a case. My vehicle involved was a year-old Honda Accord. I do not want a repaired vehicle. Once your vehicle has been in an accident, it loses its value. Can I have my car replaced, and am I entitled to any other damages?

Re: Hit and Run Accident

The legislature lets the other drivers insurance decide whehter or not to replace or repair your car. You have no real choice in the matter. You may be entitled to a rental car until a decision is made about your car. Good Luck.
