Re: Hoa board member liability

If a member of the board of directors knows of a potentially dangerous situation, and then the situation then occurred and caused injury to a person or property, the association might be held liable. It sounds from your question as if the situation presents a fire hazard. If that is the case, then I would suggest contacting the Fire Marshal for your county and letting that office determine if there's a fire hazard.
