Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

My husband slipped and fell in a local store on a wet floor. The store says the security tape shows they did not have time to clean up the spill before my husband slipped on it. Is there a certain timeframe where they are NOT liable from the 'spill to the fall'???

No. Logic should dictate. Did a store employee know about the spill?

The current law in Florida asks whether the store employees knew or should have known about the spill. They almost always will say they didn't know. So should they have known? It depends most commonly on how long the liquid was on the floor. Have you seen the video? If they can prove that the liquid was not there long enough for them to discover it, it is a major blow to your argument. There is no black and white rule as to how long is too long. A good lawyer can helpy you navigate this difficult statute as it exists in Florida. Good luck.
