What information do I need if a witness calls?

I was in an auto accident and told witnesses to leave without getting information. I now have signs posted so witnesses can contact me. What information do I need from them when they call? Do I have them contact my attorney?

Get their name address and phone number clearing with your attorney if he wants you to do the job or his investigator or himself. It depends on the seriousness of the case and the importance of the witness testimony. You should always clear with your attorney who is familiar with your case and not seek a strange lawyer for advice.
