Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida
Injured while on someone else's property.
I attened a 4th of July party in 2001, and they had a volly ball net set up. I was asked to fill in an while playing feel because of a hole. I could not walk after that, my knee was in great pain. The next day I went to the doctor and the an othopedic, long story short I had to have surgery on the knee and to this day there are still problems.
Am I out of the statute of limitations or is there anything I can do to get my exspenses back, there is also time from work theropy and pain and suffering.

Do you mean that you fell down because of a hole in the ground? Where was the volleyball court located? Was the game a sponsored event of any kind? Did you report the incident to anyone at the time it occurred? Did any of the players warn you that there was a hole on the ground? You may have a viable cause of action (case), but it's difficult to make any conclusions without first learning all the facts. Generally Statute of Limitations is 4 years for negligence under Florida law, but there are exceptions. You should consult an attorney in your area immediately. The longer you wait (even if within the Statute of Limitations) the harder it will be to argue your case. An attorney will need additional details of your case (i.e. what were the circumstances around why you were at the event and information about the property and owner). Current and past medical records will be important among other items if you choose to pursue legal action.
