Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

I was injured in a slip and fall in a JCPenny store about 2 yrs. ago. I obtained a private lawyer and me advised to start going to a assingned physician to receive therapy. After 10 mts. of seeing him the lawyer dropped the case and told me that it was not pursuing. I am aware that the statute of limitations in my state (FL) has not passed and I am still interested in pursuing legal action but am not sure of what step to take next. Any assistance or guidance in this matter is greatly appreciated.Thank You.
