This is difficult to evaluate. You must understand that the condo owner of renter will deny liability or at least claim comparative negligence on your part, even though you were not negligent. Most home owner insurance allows for medical payments. So all your medical should be compensated for. The ability to get complete compensation for the vacation and for the pain and suffering etc is a little more difficult to deal with. Insurance companies just do not hand out money, and they understand the economics of a law suit. They would rather pay an attorney 10k or 50K than to pay you that. Most lawyers who represent injured consumers are reluctant to take on a case if the damages are not very severe. Stiches alone without nerve or tendon damage is not a big case. My advice is to get your bills paid and try to get some if not all of your vacation reimbursed and possibly some money for your injury. This is not a case you ultimately want to file suit on.
