Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

In march of 2000 I went to a concert in New York, I now live in Florida and after a few days I still had a ringing in my ear . The ringing has gotten worse to the point it affects my daily living.

Someone told me a can still sue and I told I believe the statue of limitations is up. Is this correct.
