Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Mechanic Responsibility

I took my car to a garage because smoke was coming from under the hood. They told me that the power steering reservoir had a leak and needed to be replaced.I had it done.He said it would take a day for fluid to burn off.Five days went by and it was still smoking so I took it back to them and he told me that now it was the hose. This was on a Thursday,he said that he would have to call and price the hose and would give me a call on Friday,he told me the car was safe to drive. On Friday I called him and he told me that it would be $195 plus tax(I paid $182 the first time I took it)to bring the car Tuesday morning he assured me again that the car would be fine until Tuesday. On Saturday I went back by there with my boyfriend because he wanted to make sure they were not trying to get over on me.The guy assured him that everything was on the up and up and the car would be fine until Tuesday. On Sunday afternoon we went to church, when we got there the car smoked like it usually did when I stopped somewhere, but this time it was coming through the vents.I turned the car off and popped the hood so that my boyfriend could take a look. When he opened it flames came out.Is the mechanic responsible?

Re: Mechanic Responsibility

Sounds like it, but you will car inspected and a written report to prove your case.
