Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Last night one of my vechicles was in an accident that involved a high-speed police chase. There were several police cars in pursuit of another vehicle and in doing so one of the police cars side-swiped a car 5 cars in front of my vechicle. A friend of our family was driving the car and my daughter was in the passenger seat.

When this police car hit the car 5 cars in front of ours, that car slammed on his brakes as did the 4 cars behind him causing a 5 car accident. Our car has significant front damage from hitting the car in front of ours. My question is that who pays for the damage to my car. Not one of the drivers of the 5 cars involved were cited in this pile up. Everyone there was given a business-size card with an incident number on it to call Monday for the police report. Please provide me your thoughts.

If you have collision coverage, make a claim with your own carrier. If not the municipality of the police department should cover. Be aware, they have strict Statute of Limitation and Notice requirements. They may claim your driver was careless in following too closely and not braking properly.
