Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

I recently moved to Florida from Virginia. I have a lawsuit going on in Virginia from an automobile accident. It has been going on for more than a year. I do not feel the attorney is going to bat for me. There is a 33% fee to him if I win. Anyway, I would like to know if I can get an attorney down here to replace my attorney in Virginia? Thank you, Lamberto

You be making a mistake to hire a Florida lawyer to handle a Virgina case. I recommend that you set up a phone conference to speak to your lawyer to see what the delay is, if any. Make sure the lawyer does personal injury work. If then you are unsatisfied, then hire a lawyer in the county in which the lawsuit is filed. You can find plenty of good lawyer by going to Super Lawyers.com.

A client always has a right to change lawyers. If your case is over a year old send him a written request for a copy of the Complaint and a written report of the status and expected trial date.

I agree that if you do feel a change is needed that you seek an experienced lawyer in the county the case is pending for a second opinion.(not in Florida).

Unfortunately we lawyers don't do a very good job keeping clients informed..even when we work diligently enforcing the clients case. I assume you checked his credentials before you hired him.
