Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Settlement Money

I was in a accident 3 years ago and I gave the passenger in my car $1500 for medical bills. I recieved information a month ago that she reiceved a settle ment for medical bills/pain and suffering for $10,000 and we made a verbal agreement that I would pay medical if she did not seek a settlement. Now I want my $1500 dollars back because she broke our agreement and had her medical bills paid for by State Farm..Would it be possible to go to court and win a case for my $1500???

Thank You

Re: Settlement Money

Your do it yourself handling got you into this problem. When the accident happened your passengers own auto insurance should have paid her medical bills, not you. If she had no insurance and no car, then your auto insurance should pay the bills. The settlement with State Farm should not include medical bills but was for other damages which could defeat your "agreement". Only a carefull assessment of the facts can determine your rights. You should have consulted an attorney before you paid the bills.
