Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida
Can I sue for neglegence personal injury?
can I still sue for an electric line being down even if the person who was zapped died 2 weeks later? My fiance was zapped by a power line that was illegally disconnected to a demolished house. He pushed a trailer over the line accidentally and was shocked hard and then he went to the hospitol and doctors, then 2 weeks later after some really unusual behavior he was killed in a very unbelievable way that is another question and lawsuit! But how can they just get away with the neglegencec because he died, I have a son who lost his father over this incident but not directly from this incident but he got zapped and his whole personality changed, his mind was like shocked the wrong way! but can I sue still even if its just for their neglegence in leaving a teco electric line laying across an easement where kids played and Rob got zapped. What recourse do I have? The property owner is very wealthy and prominent business owner wh seems to get away with everything even know he has put in complaints with coded enforcemnt on me for unfounded reasons! help I;m a single mom without rob our lives are unstable please help I need an agresive lawyer I already have alot of evidence and info i need help

You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.
Maybe. More information would be necessary in order to give you a viable response. You should meet with several personal injury attorneys in your area who can review the facts. The case would be substantially more interesting to an attorney if there is some tie in with the cause of death and the incident complained of. You were not clear on that fact. If an attorney agrees to handle the case, it should be taken on a contingency. As the fiance, you may not have any rights to sue, but the children of the decedant are able to.

Re: Can I sue for neglegence personal injury?
The claim, if there is one, is very small. If he did not die as a result of the electrocution, but from some other cause -- as seems to be the case -- he has a claim for the medical and other losses caused by the electrocution and the pain caused by it. Since there is only a two week period of time for the damages, that would be almost certainly a very small figure. As a fiance you have no rights to recover, unless you are named as a beneficiary of his will. If he has no will, the recovery would go to his estate and then to his son after all creditors have been paid.

Re: Can I sue for neglegence personal injury?
Ma'am:
Sounds like a terrible thing that happened.
I'd be willing to speak to you regarding these events. You must explain further exactly how he died. You seem to have more details that aren't included in your email.
Losing a loved one is hard, and there may be a case. But you need to be able to explain all the details that are left out right now.
Feel free to call me if you'd like to talk about it more.
Take care and good luck.

I am sorry for your loss. You should speak to a lawyer who is qualified to handle a complex case of this type. You would be in good hands with a lawyer who is board certified in civil trial law, as are the lawyers
in our firm. Most lawyers are not. We would be happy to speak with you about this terrible situation to see if we can be of any help. We handle cases all over the state. We work on a contingency fee, meaning we take a percentage of whatever we can recover on your behalf, and there are no charges to you of any kind if there is no recovery.
