Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida
Being Sued For a Dog Bite Incedent
Our son's dog was fenced in the back yard while he was visiting us,when a motorcycle drove on a private road in front of our home The dog jumped the fence and started chasing the motorcycle and the man then stopped and started to provoke the dog by kicking at him and then the dog nipped at him, bruising was visible but nothing else not even puncturing the skin. EMS was called and man refused on site treatment then driving on his motorcycle 2 hours away and 12 hours later went and received medical treatment now is suing for scarring and damages pain and medical in which we have no problem with the medical Our delima is that insurance company can and most likely will cancel us and in this process being a old mobile home and being hurricane season cannot find coverage elsewhere will not be able to receive homeowners therefore we will lose our home Since we are being sued do we have the rights to copies of all medical bills, doctor's diagnosis, pictures, or any other evidence the mans lawyer has? How can we save our home?
