Verbal Agreements in Injury Cases

RE: Brain Injury case where my dad wanted to retract his verbal agreement to settle, but he never signed or has seen any agreements. Thank you to all who took their time to respond, however, everyone has conflicting views as to whether an oral agreement is enforceable in this instance. Can anyone give me specific ''case law'' that can help him when he goes to court when Waste Management tries to enforce the oral agreement here in Sarasota? Waste Management wants to settle for a little over $100,000. My dad recently read in the paper about a man in Bradenton that won a $6.5 million dollar settlement with *very similar* circumstances. Ironically, he read about this about the same time that he had agreed to settle and then changed his mind. He has signed absolutely nothing. The accident took place in 2000 and my dad's recovery is *still* ongoing. Any direction with specific case law would be *so greatly appreciated*. Thank you for your time.

Re: Verbal Agreements in Injury Cases

this is not something that you can reasonably be expected to successfully handle without a lawyer.
