Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida
I was working maintenance for a company, and ruptured my Achilles tendon on January 27th. They took their time finding a doctor and had me work up until surgery in march. Come to find out, they never turned in my information to workers comp, so they have to pay me out of pocket. They have given me a base salary while i recover. My doctor has recently told me i might have further injury in my calf and has ordered an MRI. Well the company i work for has told me their attorney has demanded i return to work Monday, doing a desk job which i am unqualified to do, and was not hired for to begin with. I suspect they want a reason to fire me and end their responsibility to pay for my recovery even though this injury might be career ending. I have yet to even finish physical therapy. Every attorney i have talked to is weary of taking the case because this doesn't involve workers comp. I truly need some advice on what to do, or where to go. I cannot find anyone to simply attempt to help me in this time of need. Please help. Thank you for your time.

You fail to indicate how the accident occurred. You can certainly do a desk job to earn your salary.
If you were injured on the job, it is worker's compensation. If you were not injured on the job, what case do you have? How did you rupture your Achilles? Notifying the w/c carrier too late wont negate your ability to get benefits from that entity. If your employer chooses to pay the benefits on their own, they can do that, but they must pay according to the law. Contact a worker's compensation attorney.
