Hi, do I need a lawyer to represent me? Do I need a patent? Do I try to sell my ideas to companies directly.? I have no clue how to start and go about this,. Thanks so much ! --name removed--Sides

Chances are, you probably don't have the expertise to seacrh for and file your patent on your own. It's a much more difficult process than it looks (and it actually looks pretty hard).
It's always a very good idea to have an attorney involved to draft non-disclosure agreements or otherwise protect your intellectual property. It's almost foolish not to have a lawyer.
