My 13 year old daughter loaded a pair of expensive jeans to a friend, the friends daughter did not like the jeans and threw them away. The friends parent did not call or attempt to return the jeans. The friends parent admitted on two occasions to throwing away the jeans in conversations with me and my daughters mom. can I sue in small claims court?
The jeans are valued at $70.00

You might sue in small claims court, but I warn against it. You may lose, and make the situation awkward for everyone involved.

If you really believe that the teen and the parents are irresponsible and disrespectful of other persons' property, a small claims suit may give them all a wake up call. We have become too complacent, and should not accept antisocial behavior as the norm. This is what small claims court is for.
