Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Abandonment of Real Property
My mother, my sister and myself own a condominium jointly. My sister moved out 6 years ago. She left no forwarding address and we have not heard from her since and have no way of contacting her. Lately we have been receiving calls from creditors trying to locate her for past due bills. Our concern is that she is still an owner of the property and someone may be able to file a lien against the property. (If she's not paying her car payment she's probably not paying her insurance payment). Is there any legal means to remove her from the deed?
