The home is included in my husband's Living Trust. He wants to add my name to the home deed. Do we need a lawyer?

The only way to put you on the deed would be to deed the property out of the Trust. Perhaps you could do something to amend the Trust to accomplish what you want. When you start doing deeds without proper legal advice, all sorts of unintended consequences usually occur. You ABSOLUTELY need to contact a competent trusts and estates attorney before taking any action.

Answering assumimg a Florida revocable Trust question. If the present deed is in Trust, the Grantor should most probably have the trust attorney do an addendum to Trust rather than attempt to change the deed. You should contact a competent Trust attorney to evaluate the trust and the Grantors intent with respect to the property and then amend the Trust accordingly. there may be other items that need to be reviewed as well Such as household furniture, use of vehicles etc. It is NOT recommended that you attempt to do these items by yourself as there are collateral impacts on matters that evolve from a trust.
