Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Adding wife to deed

We were recently married and I moved into my husband's home. He want to add my name to the deed and we cannot determine which form to use. The clerk's office at the courthouse was no help at all. Please advise how we go about doing this. Thank you.

Re: Adding wife to deed

Either a warranty deed or a quit-claim deed will work. Be aware that you will incur documentary stamps upon recording at the rate of $7.00 per $1,000 of any outstanding mortgage(s). I would also recommend having it done by an attorney, in order to assure it is properly prepared (and properly executed)to do what you intend.
