Answering a Summons

I have to answer a summons and I'm not sure exactly how to

do it. Should I just go down the list and disagree, or do I

write out my disagreement with each one? Any help with this

matter will be appreciated. I

Go down the list of allegations and answer each one as to whether you agree or deny & why. Also list any affirmative defenses you have to the entire claim. Good luck.

You would be answering the complaint, not the summons. However, you may have a legal basis to move to dismiss the complaint before and without having to answer it. Assuming it is worth it to you financially, you should consult with an attorney experienced in civil litigation regarding the lawsuit. You probably have only 20 days to respond to the complaint so time is of the essence. Without reading the complaint and meeting with you regarding its allegations, there is not much guidance that I can give you.
