Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Hello i am attending college while living in my parents house in Sarasota. The problem is that the house is located in a deed restricted community and HOA is threatening to put a lien on the house because my name is not on the deed of the house and the properties are not allowed to be rented or occupied by anyone other than the deed holders. I do not rent the house and my parents live in PA and this is the vacation house. How can i either get my name on the house or somehow find a way to continue living in the house. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Without reviewing the documents it is difficult to advise. However, most associations have an exception for immediate family. That your name doesn't have to be on the deed if you are closely related, such as child of the owner.
Talk with the association and ask them that, specifically showing you were such deed restriction prohibit you to stay.
