Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
My "boyfriend" watched my cat for me while I was in jail for 4 months. When I got out, I called him to get my cat and he said his mother doesn't want to gie her up. She's my cat and I want her. What can I do? Can they keep her legelly? Thanks, Mary

No, they probably cannot keep your cat legally. They can request that you reimburse them for the reasonable expenses of taking care of the cat for 4 months (food, kitty litter, any medical treatment or medicine), and they can hold the cat until you pay them. If they still won't return the cat, you will have to sue them in small claims court.
