Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

My brother and I own a house that our mother lives in.

Can we grant her a life estate so she can claim homestead exemption?

The house is in Florida.

You and your brother can transfer the property to yourselves and your mother as joint tenants with full rights of survivorship. Upon her death, the house will belong only to you and your brother. In the meanwhile she MAY be able to claim homestead exemption on the property. BUT you need to take all of the documents to an attorney before you do anything. There are other considerations that will come into play.
