Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Change/Delete name on property deed

I was divorced in SC in 1988. In the divorce decree I was awarded a lot we had in North Port FL. I had former wifes name removed from records at the Sarasota County Tax Office. I am now told that I need to have her name removed from the deed which I don't know how to go about doing that. Does it have to be done by a lawyer? Does it have to be done in Florida or can I have it done in AL where I now live? Since the divorce she has died. All I have is the divorce papers and a death certificate.
