Closing cost nd Taxes

i made a trip from new york to florida on dec. 2004 to look for a home on dec 19 i found a brand new spec home and put a $5000 binder on it the next day i went to a bank and applied for a loan. i found out the end of january it went through. the home was $297,000 i only borrowed $126,500 the rest was paid cash from proceeds of a condo i sold. question is first they told me closing cost would be from 2500 to 2800 well i learned at the closing it was 7200 good i had to borrow money then i was told my taxes for 2005 would be based on land only around $753.00 i get my taxes for this year and they are $3,500 i dint close the hose till feb 15 2005 when i question this i was told the builder co'ed the house on dec 22 well i could not even claim homestead this year i was told i had to be in the house by jan my bank had paid the $750 and now will wipe out my ascrow account plus some from me to pay these taxes

for the year in which jan and part of feb in didnt own i believe i was overcharge for many things at the closing plese help Thank You Paul

If you had an attorney to represent you all of this should have been known before hand.
