Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I am a college student in Florida, and my financial changes has changed for the worse, I am trying to get out of my lease for my current apartment complex because I can no longer afford to pay for it. How can this be done? In advance, I would like to thank you for your time of reviewing this.

Talk to the landlord. He/she may feel sorry for you, and start looking for a renter who can afford to live there. Expect to have to pay something for breaking the lease. it doesn't matter that you can't afford this now. The landlord is entitled to payment, of the entire lease amount.

If the landlord can find another renter (you may be able to help to do this, by talking to fellow classmates, keeping the apartment clean and available for showings to prospective tenants), the landlord will be happier with you, and may give you a break.

If you just "walk out" you will likely be sued for the rent, and someday, when you have money, you will end up paying the judgment, with interest.
