Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Condo Association Approval

I have a contract to buy a condo and the Home Owners Association has the right of approval. The form that the HOA wants filled out asks for my Social Security number, the name of my bank(s) and the Account numbers. Is it legal to require that information? With all the threats of identity theft in the news I am reluctant to give out all that rather private information.

Re: Condo Association Approval

Yes, it's legal. If you don't provide the requested information, then you will not get approval and, consequently, you will be denied membership in the association.
