Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Condo Association in Florida

My mother-in-law wants to purchase a condo in a 55+ community. She was approved for a mortgage. However, she was not approved through the condo association because of her income. She has asked that I be added. However, I want to purchase my first home this year. If I am not on her mortgage but on her condo association application does that mean I would be disqualified for first time home buyer benefits, such as the $8K tax credit? Note: I live in NJ but she is in Florida.
