Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I own a condo with my ex-boyfriend

Me and my ex, then boyfriend, purchased a 3 bed/2 bath condo Nov. 06. Since October of 07 we have been officially broken up. When we bought the house it was intentioned to be for the both of us when we got married, however we were not going to go forth any renovations on it until close to the time for us to get married. Of course time came and past and that never happened. While purchasing the house he had me sign a contract which stated that i would have no rights to profits made off the house at time of sell in the future. I signed it because that would have been true if we mutually decided to go our seperate ways and marry another. During the first 4 months of owning the condo we did renovations, he paid for the materials and I did 80 % of the labor myself. I want to sell it and get my name off it because there's no need for us to own a house together. However he says because of the contract I signed I'm not entitled to anything. Is there anyway I can get around this or will I have to make it harder by refusing to sell the house (because it takes the both of us to do that) until he agrees that I am at least due some part of the profit. He bought the materials but a lot of the beautification wouldn't exist if I hadn't done it.

You can play hardball and refuse to sell until an agreement is reached. The conmtract for sale should have an attachment outlining the distribution between the two of you at closing. You must not sign at closing without getting everything simultaneously. No promises.
