Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I am a new condominium owner going through my first election of the board of directors. Recently our property manager was fired and since she felt no more loyalty to the board she gave me a paper they signed back in September stating that they wished to keep staggered elections and disregard the new law stating that a majority of the vested owners must vote on such. Recently they said they obtained enough votes to ratify staggered elections. Now I'm wondering if we can eliminate them from running for having signed that paper to begin with.

You don't indicate who "they" are. If you have board members that are conspiring to thwart laws governing condo associations, you are starting with a very bad mix of leadership for your association. You need to see a real estate attorney who will research your options. If the other members of the association also had a copy of the paper, it is unlikely that these folks would be elected. You will need to find other members of the association who are willing to serve. Consider yourself for a position as well.
