Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Condominium Parking: Double Dipping Charges?
Our condominium gives each apartment 1 parking space. An additional space can be rented from the company that runs the valet. Our neighbor kindly offered her space to us, as she no longer drives. The valet company wants us to pay them for the space, even though they would not be able to use it, as it ''belongs'' to our neighbor. A portion of everyone's maintenance fee covers their parking. Why then should the valet ''double-dip'' on fees that have technically already been paid to them through the maintenance? This is obviously unfair, but I wonder if this is even legal? What can we do?

Check your condo documents. If you have permission in writing it should suffice.
