Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
I co-owned a real estate investing company in florida. We borrowed money to complete some projects. I then resigned. 8 months later, by ex-partner (still owner) says I owe half of the debt that was incurred after I left. The debt was taken in the company name, not my own. Do I owe any past company debt?

Would need to read partnership agreement. A mere resignation may not be sufficient.

Your paperwork matters. You need to take all the papers you have to an attorney. You don't even mention the type of entity we are talking about, a partnership? corporation? etc. As Mr. Slater points out a mere resignation may not be enough to stop your personal liability if you signed papers that took on those burdens.
