Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
I have custody of 3 of my grandchildren and several years ago they were named in a will by their relative that they didn't even know. They never received anything from this will due to the party owing many bills. Now I received a summons from the state of Florida suing me for a remainder of a loan that he had established. I need to file a response and have no idea how to start one. I am single and cannot afford and attorney that wants to charge $150.00 an hour to handle this for me. I'm not sure if I need to file a response of dismissal or what, I hope you can point me in the right direction. I had 20 days to respond and several days have passed.
Thank you
Barbara

Without seeing the papers it is hard to advise. Why do they believe you are responsible? Do not default or you lose.
You need an attorney to review the lawsuit and help you to file a response. That should not take more than an hour or two.
