Name on deed not on Mtg. note
My husband passed away. I wanted to put the loan in my name. My name is on the deed. I was advised to assume the loan by the mtg co. It was a refinance and for some reason my name was left off the note. Another person advised I was not responsible for the remainder of the mtg, not to assume the loan. Am I responsible for making any remaining payments to the loan?

No, but they will foreclose on the house.
