Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Deed

My parents own their own home. Father passed away but we have not taken his name off the deed. Should this be done? Perhaps leave mother's name on the deed and add oldest child's name in place of father's name so that down the road there are no probate problems.

Best way to handle this?

Thank you for your help.

Re: Deed

Although joint ownership avoids probate the house will go to the survivor. If there are other heirs they lose out. If they are comfortable with this arrangement then ok. I wouldn't recommend it.
