deed restriction changes

I moved into my deed restricted community in 2000 and signed a convenant of rules & regs. I put up a basketball hoop in june 2001. The assoc. has since added language in an addendum restricting basketball hoops. Can they change the restrictions anytime? what is stopping the assoc. from forcing all homeowners to change everything . I was going by the restrictions in place when i bought my home.

Yes...the association can change the rules at anytime providing the majority required by the constituient documents is met. It is your obligation to speak up at the meetings if you are in disagreement.
