Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Easement

I own two lots. Lot 6 and lot 9. They are connected rear to rear. Both are free and clear and in my name. One of the two lots needs a utility easement in order to build. Can I be both a grantee and a grantor for the easement I want to give lot 9 an easement from lot 6 for its utilities. Can one person be both, and is it legal to give yourself an easment.

Re: Easement

As general matter you can grant an easement between two pieces of adjacent land owned by a common owner. However, you should consult counsel to determine the impact on the servient land.
