What are the laws protecting the tenant in an eviction situation? Is there a time frame on how much notice a landlord must give a tenant before an eviction? This would be for the State of Florida.

Eviction Laws- Due Process & Notice
Q. What are the laws in Fla. protecting the tenant in an eviction situation? Is there a time frame on how much notice a landlord must give a tenant before an eviction?
A. The Fla. eviction laws were created for Landlords but have been amended to add "Due Process" for Tenants. This means you must be given Notice and an opportunity to be heard. There are also provisions dealing with deposits, etc. As to "Notice you get", it depends on the terms of your lease. If you have an oral/verbal lease, then the notice depends on how often you pay rent. It varies on the lenght of rental pymt. The shorter time between payments, the less notice you get.
